- Set your paid weeks per year (default 52 weeks including paid vacation).
- Review your equivalent annual, monthly, biweekly, and daily wage conversions.
Formula & Calculation Methodology
Gross earnings per week are calculated by multiplying the hourly wage by scheduled weekly hours. Multiplying weekly earnings by total paid weeks per year yields annual salary, which is converted to monthly (divide by 12) and biweekly (divide by 26) figures.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many working hours are in a standard working year?↓
A standard full-time employee working 40 hours per week for 52 weeks works exactly 2,080 hours per year (40 × 52 = 2,080). As a general rule of thumb, multiplying your hourly rate by 2,000 gives a quick approximate annual salary.
What is the difference between biweekly and semi-monthly pay?↓
Biweekly pay occurs every two weeks, resulting in 26 paychecks per year (two months have three paychecks). Semi-monthly pay occurs twice per month (typically the 15th and last day of the month), resulting in exactly 24 paychecks per year.
Does this calculator include unpaid vacation or holiday time?↓
By default, the calculator assumes 52 paid weeks per year. If your employer does not provide paid time off (PTO) and you take two weeks of unpaid vacation, adjust the "Paid Weeks Per Year" field to 50.
What limitation should I be aware of when using this tool?↓
This calculator converts pre-tax gross wages and does not automatically calculate income tax withholdings, overtime premiums, shift differentials, or employer-sponsored benefit deductions.
